The Philosophy
The approach for the Route 23 Bluegrass Festival is to honor bluegrass music with a professional event that showcases talented artists and provides a positive representation of our beautiful southern Ohio community.
Our approach is to welcome our guests of all ages with open arms and treat all persons involved courteously and respectfully to create the type of environment that invites participation and camaraderie. We aim to provide music environments with high energy that get the crowd engaged with the artists while having proper security for the safety of everyone involved.
The festival is a public-private partnership between Southern Ohio Multimedia and the Pike County Agricultural Society, where camping proceeds benefit the Pike County Fair Board and our local 4-H program.
We start with a high standard to bring quality entertainment to our customers and to keep prices as low practical to accomplish that goal. There is an understanding that customers have many options for entertainment and there is a recognition that it is important to keep affordability in mind as we manage the project. Bluegrass music offers a great value for the ever-increasing cost of entertainment and the customer experience is at the forefront of all festival decisions.
The Mission
The mission of the Route 23 Bluegrass Festival is to provide a safe, welcoming, and festive environment featuring elite bluegrass talent for our loyal enthusiasts; to serve as a positive ambassador for bluegrass music; to generate a meaningful economic impact for Pike County and southern Ohio; and to be a responsible community partner.
The vision of the Route 23 Bluegrass Festival is to be recognized as an industry-leading bluegrass event known for professionalism, hospitality, continuous improvement, and responsible stewardship, while promoting our community and fostering sustainable growth for generations of music fans to come.
